CoinPal’s hosted custodial service has been suspended. The reason is a shift in the external regulatory environment, with compliance pressure continuing to mount — this is a reality the whole industry is facing, not just one company.

We could have pushed through it. But when we stopped to take stock, we realized something more important:

The problem isn’t just the pressure — it’s the custodial model itself. Custody means the platform has to hold users’ funds, which makes the platform the most fragile link in the chain: when the platform is under pressure, your money is under pressure too. No matter how hard a platform works, that structural risk never goes away.

That’s why we’re building MotePay.

MotePay is a self-custody crypto payment solution: your keys stay in your hands, and we can’t touch your funds. Your money no longer depends on any platform’s survival — including ours.

Where we are now: The product is still in development and has not launched yet. Every update and release note will be posted here first.
